Location. The Grand Hyatt San Francisco, one of only two hotels that stands on Union Square, is located in San Francisco, Calif., adjacent to Union Square's shops and galleries. Expert Tip. Sculptor Ruth Asawa's 1972 fountain, located outside the hotel on the plaza, depicts inner city life. Revealing scenes of San Francisco past and present, the bronze reliefs were cast from bakers' clay, and modeled by the artist's family members, neighbors and local schoolchildren.
