Location. The Willows is located in Central Point, Ore., a small town surrounded by mountains just five miles northeast of downtown Medford. The California Oregon border is 36 miles south, while Crater Lake is 78 miles to the northeast.
Features. The Willows is a 1911 Craftsman style mansion that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The period home features hardwood floors, Oriental rugs, and antique furnishings. Modern additions include high speed and wireless Internet access, private bathrooms, and fitness equipment. Complimentary breakfasts are served daily. Food lovers also can hone skills at The Willows' in house cooking school.
Guestrooms. The Willows contains five guestrooms, all individually decorated with antique furniture. Notably, the McCaskey Room and the Marigold Room offer fireplaces. The Bora da Room features the largest guest bathroom, which is complete with a separate shower and brass and enamel bathtub. The Madden Room has views of Mt. McLoughlin and the Rogue Valley, while the Butler's Retreat offers a mahogany queen bed and a sofa bed. All guestrooms include bathrobes, televisions, DVD players, and telephones.
Expert Tip. The Willows' grounds once encompassed more than 1,000 acres at the turn of the 20th century. The main home was part of the Fairview Orchard, reportedly named for the property's panoramic view of Mt. McLoughlin. Today, the five acre estate includes a swimming pool, a croquet lawn and the namesake trees in the lush garden.
