Location. Nestled far back from a country road, the Arabian Horse Inn B&B in Old Sudbury, Mass., is located seven miles from the Millwood Farm Golf Course. Minuteman National Park and Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge are less than 10 miles away. Features. This Queen Anne style inn was built in 1880, and is set on nine acres of rolling pastures laced with old maple sugar trees, weeping willows, streams and ponds. The inn is home to four sleek, purebred Arabian horses. Complimentary English style breakfasts, including bacon, sausage, grilled potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes and two fresh eggs from the inn's own chickens, are served each morning. Lunch and dinner are available for a fee. The inn boasts high ceilings and windows, polished pine floors and a formal parlor with a grand piano. Hiking trails, apple picking, horseback riding and fishing are available on the inn's grounds.
Guestrooms. Rooms at the Arabian Horse Inn B&B feature equine d?cor, with most bearing the names of the inn's own Arabian horses. The Honeymoon Suite features a canopy bed, two person jetted tub, glass shower, wet bar and a Victorian dressing table with a double vanity. The king room, which shares a hall bathroom with the single room, includes a sitting area, dressing table, refrigerator and microwave oven. The single room offers bookcases, a bay window and French doors that open out to a balcony with a view of the pond, mare pasture and 124 year old sugar maple trees.
Expert Tip. Built in 1880, the Arabian Horse Inn was originally an apple farm and features its original entrance and gravel lane.
