Location. The Southmoreland on the Plaza Bed & Breakfast is located in Kansas City, Mo., two blocks from the Country Club Plaza, a historic arts, shopping and entertainment district. More than 180 shops and restaurants, the J.C. Nicols Fountain and the Seville Tower are offered at the plaza. The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art is one block away. The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and the Kansas City Art Institute are four blocks from the property. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fountain is less than one mile from the inn, and the University of Missouri Kansas City is less than four miles away.

The William Rockhill Nelson room features Chippendale furniture, a canopy bed, Irish hunt prints, a jetted tub and a wood burning fireplace. The August Meyer room offers burled walnut furnishings from the Civil War era and a two person, jetted tub. The Kathryn Winstead room boasts a 32 inch deep soaking tub, vintage Americana decor and a private, treetop deck. The Col. Robert T. Van Horn room offers a freestanding, porcelain fireplace, Cape Cod d?cor and hard carved oak furnishings. The Ella and Jacob Loose room features an ornate iron bed and a private deck with a porch swing and views of the waterfall. The luxury suite on the top floor of the Carriage House features a freestanding fireplace, an adjoining deck and a jetted tub.
Expert Tip. The inn's Carriage House is named after prominent landscape artist George Kessler, who designed the city's famous parks. The inn's namesake, Southmoreland Park, is adjacent to the inn.
